Wanda Cox is a self taught painter, fluent in oil, watercolor and chalk pastel. Well known for her sensitive portraits of children, family and pets, she also explores the subject of still life and landscape. Her clever technique of watercolor on canvas gives her work a luminous, rich surface that allows her greater ‘open’ time to blend and saturate her color. Cox masterfully captures the bright west Georgia light as her subjects repose in splendid sunbeams, or comfortable chairs.
Cox’s work can be found in numerous galleries in the region, and she is a regular fixture in the Carrollton Artists Guild and the Annual Carrollton Arts Festival. Commissions are always graciously accepted.
